Santa Claus is coming to Albota

We look forward to welcoming you in the afternoon. In the restaurant of the complex you will be greeted with baked apples, mulled wine, plum brandy or blueberry liqueur — a fine aperitif before dinner is served.

19:00 — Dinner is served.

After breakfast you are invited to the pig-slaughter ritual, carried out in the traditional way. After the singeing comes a photo session for the children on the theme “riding the pig”. Before the carving we clink a glass of hot plum brandy or tea with the butcher, so that the bacon stays white and never turns rancid. Grown-ups and little ones alike will be served freshly cut pork rind, ears and tails. The more “chilly” children are welcome to join in making decorations for the Christmas tree.

14:00 – 15:30 — The pig-slaughter feast. A sour soup and a pork stew in the Arpaș style will warm you up and prepare you for what is to come: the children’s group from Arpașu singing local carols, followed by a band of carol singers arriving on decorated horses.

17:00 — Guests, especially the children, are invited to join the Trout Farm staff in searching the Trout Farm grounds for the decorations hidden by the “elves”. They then spend Christmas Eve decorating the tree, to the sound of Romanian carols. Please each bring a special bauble, so that the tree has something from everyone.

18:00 — We welcome Santa Claus, arriving with his sack full of presents. This evening is especially for the children.

19:00 — Christmas Eve dinner with traditional local dishes, generously washed down with wine and plum brandy.

08:30 – 10:30 — Breakfast.

10:30 — The Complex Albota team invites you on a walk around the Trout Farm: the Arpășel Reserve, the hydroelectric power plant, the trout rearing and the farm outbuildings (bakery, butchery, smokehouse, cellar). We continue with a cultural tour to the Evangelical Church in Cârța, where Misch — “the Saxons’ priest” — will welcome you with a traditional Saxon snack and with legends about the Cistercian monks and their monastery, built in the 13th century in the Early Gothic style.

14:00 – 16:30 — Special Christmas lunch, accompanied by a recital from the carol choir.

The afternoon is set aside for active relaxation. The sauna and jacuzzi are at guests’ disposal. The children are expected in the Pavilion for the “Elf School”, where they will be initiated into the secrets of painting and handicrafts. When they leave, they also receive a graduation diploma.

20:00 — Christmas dinner: a buffet with a varied menu, which traditionally includes roast pork with polenta and sauerkraut. This is followed by a campfire with mulled wine and plum brandy, and then the party with a DJ.

08:30 – 10:30 — Breakfast.

10:30 — Presentation of the “Elf School” graduation diplomas.

12:30 — Lunch is served.

15:00 — Farewell from the Trout Farm staff. On departure, every participant receives a surprise package of our own natural products.

The remaining 70% of the package price must be paid by 27 November 2026 at the latest, with the proof sent by email.

Until 1 November 2026 — full or partial cancellation, without penalty. Between 2 and 27 November 2026 — a penalty of 30% of the package price. After 27 November 2026 — a penalty of 100%.

If legal restrictions beyond our control prevent us from holding the event or restrict your travel, the amounts paid in advance will be refunded in full.
