Sustainability

We produce our own electricity, water and food

Photovoltaic panels and our own hydropower plant, water drawn from a depth of 300 metres, 14 trout ponds and a farm with over 2,000 animals. Over 80% of what we serve comes from our own production.

Energy

Power from the sun and from water

The complex uses renewable energy produced locally. The photovoltaic panels, installed on the complex’s land, power the buildings and the ponds. They are complemented by our own hydropower plant, which uses the area’s water resources.

Together, the two directly reduce emissions — this isn’t a stated goal, it’s infrastructure that has been working for years.

Water

Our own water, from 300 metres down

We draw our own drinking water from a depth of 300 metres, with our own treatment systems that bring it up to national and international quality standards. We bottle this same water and serve it in the rooms.

The water in the fishing ponds comes straight from the nearby river — cold and flowing, exactly what trout need. That’s why it tastes the way it does.

The farm and the workshops

From farm to plate, literally

Near Cârțișoara we have a farm with over 2,000 animals: sheep, cows, buffalo, Angus cattle, goats, rabbits and ducks. They are the source of the products you’ll find in the restaurant and in the shop.

What we make ourselves

You’ll also find all of them in the complex’s shop, if you’d like to take something home.
