Easter traditions in Transylvania

ALL INCLUSIVE

We expect your arrival in the afternoon. In the restaurant of the Albota Complex you will be greeted with cocktails, toast or blueberry, a good appetizer before dinner.

08:00 – 10:30 Breakfast

Ora 10:00 – Excursion to our trout farm in Carta where we can see with our representative the real production of trout and carp as well as fish hatcheries

At 11:00 am – from the pastravarie we pass directly in the courtyard of the former Cistercian monastery where we will be welcomed by “popa Misch” , the priest of the evangelical church who will introduce us to the church. On this occasion you will learn interesting information about the life and living of the monks, their history and about the Easter traditions and customs of the Saxons.

13:00 – Picnic in the monastery garden/ Teacher’s House with own products (barbecue, salads, drinks)

16:00 – The return to the Albota Tourist Complex will be made through the animal farm of Cartisoara. Here you will be able to see (from the car) both angus and buffalos in their natural environment

Arrived in the complex, the little ones will benefit from an attractive program that includes a workshop for egg laying and/or a special leisure program (see details in the program)

19:30 – CHINA

The menu will be designed in such a way that those who are fasting will have something to choose from.

At 23:30 – Those who wish to participate in the Resurrection Mass can do so at the Monastery “St. Apostles Peter and Paul” from Cartisoara, is approx. 3 km, or to the “Brancoveanu” Monastery in Sambata de Sus, approx. 30 km.

08:00 – 10:30 Easter breakfast is served in the spirit of the feast, with “pasti” and red eggs.

10:00 – 13:00 THE PETIT WORKSHOP – animation program for children in the playground, coloring, plasticine, drawings made with watercolors and exhibited on the panel.

12:00 – We invite you to a tour through our complex with interesting explanations about energy production but especially the production of healthy food

13:30 – EASTER HOLIDAY MEAL – Specific Saxon menu with “kerbel” soup and tasty roast lamb.

At 15:30 – Special FAMILY CONTEST program with specific Saxon games, namely: searching for red eggs through the perimeter of the Pastravariei, “Eierlauf” – egg relay, “Kokesschiessen” – archery after the target cocos, but also fishing, sack jumping, rope pulling. The results of the competitions are scored. At the end the winning family will be awarded. All family members are invited to participate.

GRAND PRIZE: a weekend at the Albota Complex!

19:30 – EASTER DINNER

The Easter dinner buffet will be a fish buffet with fish specialties: trout tartar, trout roe, smoked fillets, Angus beef dishes, raw-dried products prepared according to local recipes …

Then follows the bonfire, mulled wine and toast and then the Easter party with music and dancing.

Free time for rest and relaxation.

13.00 – Lunch

After lunch, we say goodbye, giving each family a surprise package with goodies from our own natural products.

At the departure each participant will receive a surprise package with their own natural products.

Explanatory remarks

"Eierlauf" - it's actually a relay in which contestants have to run along a certain route and collect as many eggs as possible without breaking them.
"Kokesschiessen" - one of the oldest traditions of the Saxons; in translation it means "shooting the rooster" or "beating the rooster". Due to the dangers of firearms and cruelty to the coconut, this custom has been banned in most localities since the mid-17th century.
The version adapted by us actually involves archery, with a drawing of a rooster on the target. The living version of the rooster will attend the competition and the winner will be able to take it home; if not, he will give it a name and leave it in the custody of Complex Albota, being able to visit it anytime.

BOOKING/CANCELLATION CONDITIONS EASTER PACKAGE 2026

1. Reservation of rooms
– for the reservation of rooms, please send a request by e-mail: office@albota.sobis.ro
– for the definitive blocking of rooms, 30% of the package value is to be paid (proof to be sent by e-mail)
– the difference of 70% of the package value is to be paid at the latest until March 10, 2026 (proof to be sent by e-mail)

2. Cancellation of rooms
– partial or total cancellation of the reservation, until March 10, 2026 – no penalty
– between March 10, 2026 and March 20, 2026, any cancellation is penalized with 30% of the value of the package
– after March 20, 2026 any cancellation is penalized with 100%.

Obs: In case of legal restrictions, which will prevent us from organizing this event or will hinder your travel, we will refund in full the amounts paid in advance.
