EASTER TRADITIONS IN TRANSYLVANIA AT PASTRAVARIA COMPLEX ALBOTA
April 18 - 21, 2025

We expect your arrival in the afternoon. In the restaurant of the Albota Complex you will be greeted with cocktails, toast or blueberry, a good appetizer before dinner.

08:00 – 10:30 – Breakfast

At 10:00 am – Excursion to our trout and carp production and fish hatcheries in Carta, where we can see with our representative the real trout and carp production.

11:00 – From the pastravarie we go directly to the courtyard of the former Cistercian monastery, where we will be welcomed by “Popa Misch”, the priest of the Evangelical Church, who will introduce us to the church. On this occasion you will learn interesting information about the life and living of the monks, their history, but also about the Easter traditions and customs of the Saxons.

13:00 – Picnic in the garden of the monastery/Teacher’s House with own products
(barbecue, salads, drinks).

At 16:00 – The return to the Albota Tourist Complex will be made through the animal farm of Cartisoara.
Here you will be able to see (from the car) both angus and buffalos in their natural environment.
Once in the complex, the little ones will benefit from an attractive program containing a workshop
for egg laying and/or a special recreational program.

19:30 – Dinner
The menu will be designed in such a way that those who are fasting will have something to choose from.

At 23:30 – Those who wish to participate in the Resurrection Mass can do it at the Monastery “St. Apostles Peter and Paul” from Cartisoara (about 3 km) or at the Monastery “Brancoveanu” from Sambata de Sus (about 30 km).

08:00 – 10:30 – Easter breakfast is served in the spirit of the holiday, with “pasti” and red eggs.

10:00 – 13:00 – Dwarfs Workshop – animation program for children in the playground, coloring, plasticine, drawings made with watercolors and exhibited on the panel.

12:00 – A tour through the complex with explanations about energy production and healthy food production.

At 13:30 – Easter festive meal – Specific Saxon menu with “kerbel” soup and tasty roast lamb.

At 15:30 – Special FAMILY CONTEST program with games specific to the Saxons: searching for red eggs in the perimeter of the Pastravariei, “Eierlauf” (egg relay), “Kokesschiessen” (archery after the rooster), fishing contest, sack jumping, rope pulling. The results of the competitions are scored, and at the end the winning family is rewarded.

GRAND PRIZE: a weekend at the Albota Complex!

At 19:30 – Easter Dinner
Buffet with fish: trout tartar, trout roe, smoked fillets, Angus beef dishes, raw-dried products prepared according to local recipes.

Then follows a bonfire, mulled wine and toast, followed by an Easter party with music and dancing.

08:00 – 10:30 – Breakfast.

13:00 – Lunch

After lunch, we say goodbye, giving each family a surprise package with goodies from our own natural products.

Detailed program

On departure, each participant will receive a surprise pack with their own natural products.

Explanatory remarks

"Eierlauf" - it's actually a relay in which contestants have to run along a certain route and collect as many eggs as possible without breaking them.
"Kokesschiessen" - one of the oldest traditions in the Saxon tradition; in translation it means "shooting the rooster" or "beating the rooster". Due to the dangers of firearms and cruelty to the coconut, this custom has been banned in most localities since the mid-17th century. The version adapted by us actually involves archery, with a coconut drawn on the target. The living version of the rooster will attend the competition and the winner will be able to take it home; if not, he will give it a name and leave it in the custody of the Albota Complex, where it can visit it at any time.

Payment deadlines / Cancellation penalties

Payment and booking deadlines
- for room reservations please send an e-mail request: office@albota.sobis.ro
- for definitive blocking of rooms, 30% of the value of the package will be charged (proof to be sent by e-mail)
- the difference of 70% of the value of the package is to be paid by March 15, 2025 at the latest (proof to be sent by e-mail)
Canceling rooms
- partial or total cancellation of the reservation, before March 15, 2025 – no penalty will be charged
- between March 15, 2025 and March 28, 2025, any cancellation will be penalized by 30% of the package value
- after March 28 2025 any cancellation is penalized by 100%.

📌 Remark: In case of legal restrictions, which will prevent us from organizing this event or will hinder your travel, we will refund in full the amounts paid in advance.
