Santa Claus is coming to Albota!

You are expected to arrive in the afternoon. In the restaurant of the Complex you will be welcomed with baked apples, mulled wine, brandy or cognac, a good appetizer before dinner.

19:30 – Dinner

After breakfast, you are invited to the traditional pig cutting ritual. After the cutting there will be a photo session for children with the theme – “riding on the pig”. Before butchering, we will toast with the butcher a glass of boiling brandy or tea to keep the bacon white and prevent it from going rancid. The young and old will be served with freshly cut sorici, pig’s ear and pig’s tail. In this ambience, the unique taste and the ritual are unforgettable. The more “chilly” children are expected to participate in the making of tree ornaments.

14:00 – 15:30 PORK POMANA. A soup and an Arpasian stew will warm you up and prepare you for what is to come: the children’s band from Arpasu singing local carols, followed by a flock of horse-drawn carol singers arriving on decorated horses.

17:00 – Tourists, especially children, are expected to join the Pastravariei staff to search together for the hidden ornaments hidden by the “Elves” in the perimeter of the Pastravariei. Then they will spend Christmas Eve decorating the Christmas tree in the atmosphere of Romanian carols! Tourists are asked to bring a special globe, so that the Christmas tree will have something from everyone.

At 19:00 – We welcome the arrival of Santa Claus with a bag full of gifts. This evening is especially addressed to children and we do everything so that they will be pleasantly surprised by Santa’s appearance and the gifts they will receive. The Christmas Eve will end in an atmosphere of surprises, carols, the smell of Christmas tree and ornamental lights in joyful anticipation of the Nativity.

21:00 – Christmas Eve dinner is served with traditional local dishes, sprinkled with plenty of wine and brandy.

08:30 – 10:30 – Breakfast

At 10:00 – The team of the Albota Tourist Complex invites you to a walk through the Pastravarie, an incursion that will reveal interesting things about the area, the Arpasel Reserve, the hydroelectric power plant, trout breeding and household annexes (bakery, butchery, smokehouses, cellar,…). We continue with a “cultural tour”, a small excursion to the Evangelical Church of Carta where Misch – “the Saxon priest” will welcome you with a traditional Saxon snack and with interesting information and legends about the Cistercian monks and their monastery, built in the 13th century in early Gothic style.

At 14:00 – 16:30 – SPECIAL CHRISTMAS LUNCH in the company of a recital of the carol singers’ choir.
The afternoon is reserved for active relaxation, walking in the Pastravarie or the surrounding area. Also sauna and jacuzzi will be available for tourists. Children are expected in the Pavilion, at the “Elf School”, where they will be introduced to the secrets of painting, handicrafts, watch video projections and participate in various fun competitions. At the departure, the children will receive a diploma of graduation.

20:00 – CHRISTMAS DINNER and the surprise of the evening
Christmas dinner is a buffet with a varied menu in which traditionally we have roast pork with masala and pickled cabbage. Followed by a bonfire, mulled wine and tuica, and then the Christmas party with music with DJ – dancing and a photo booth PHOTO CLICK

10:30 am – Presentation graduation diplomas of the “School of Elves

12:30 – Serving lunch

15:00 – Departure from the Pastravariei staff

Explanatory remarks

"Eierlauf" - it's actually a relay in which contestants have to run along a certain route and collect as many eggs as possible without breaking them.
"Kokesschiessen" - one of the oldest traditions in the Saxon tradition; in translation it means "shooting the rooster" or "beating the rooster". Due to the dangers of firearms and cruelty to the coconut, this custom has been banned in most localities since the mid-17th century. The version adapted by us actually involves archery, with a coconut drawn on the target. The living version of the rooster will attend the competition and the winner will be able to take it home; if not, he will give it a name and leave it in the custody of the Albota Complex, where it can visit it at any time.

BOOKING / CANCELLATION CONDITIONS CHRISTMAS PACKAGE 2026

The annex refers to the CHRISTMAS package as follows:

1. Room reservation
– for room reservation, please send a request by e-mail: office@albota.sobis.ro
– for the definitive blocking of rooms, 30% of the package value must be paid (proof to be sent by e-mail)
– the difference of 70% of the package value must be paid at the latest by Nov. 30 , 2026 (proof to be sent by fax or e-mail)

2. Cancellation of rooms
– partial or total cancellation of the reservation, until Nov. 01, 2026 – no penalty
– between Nov. 02, 2026 and Nov. 30, 2026, any cancellation is penalized with 30% of the package value
– after Nov. 30, 2026 any cancellation is penalized with 100%.
